The "Walberla"
The famous mountain "Ehrenbürg" with the two summits "Rodenstein (530 m)" and "Walberla (512 m)" goes by the popular name of "Walberla". The celts already knew the charm of this mountain and built a village there.
Today the Walberla is a nature conservation area, but climbing is allowed at the Rodenstein. Every year on the first day of May (the day of the Holy Walpurga, the name-giving patron saint) a big festivity is held on the mountain, with visitors coming from all over Franconia. It is a long-standing tradition in our region to hike at that day to the Walberla and join the celebrants.
